mr get doughGRODT too long the hit/deep cut ratio isnt like Thrillers but it does have hella hits
Grad is like half hits, and is more alike in tone and played a similar role in shifting sound
IMO tho i see why you’d say Get Rich
The half hits aspect def gives Grad a great argument (even tho Thriller/Grad/GRODT all literally have the same number of hits lol but the ratio does play a part)

Going 6 for 13 is way crazier than going 6 for for 19 to me but not to take away from GRODT
Graduation is THE standard though, like niggas argue about if Drake or Kendrick got a Graduation but GRODT isnt brought up in that regard maybe because its harder to emulate though
But the sound, the feeling, the MJ sample everything just aligned too perfectly. Grad era Ye might be the highest peak a rapper ever had, only rivaled by C3 Wayne to me but I’m also not a 50 Cent fan so I might just be biased but imma always see Grad as raps thriller

scumbagi see what you mean, but holding up over a long period of time still does have a lot of value for music even if it will all be dated 100 years from now.
for example people may argue about the chronic sounding dated now but that s*** had held up and stayed sounding fresh for over 20 years (even with its sexist lyrics, gangsta rap cliches and lol weed bro shtick that hasn’t done it any favours over time), its age really doesn’t take away from it at all even in 2021. it took about 5 or so years for graduation to start sounding dated.
the only reason graduation sounds dated in the slightest imo is bc people bit a lot of the subtle things about it from 2007-2011 lol

MBDTF is critic peak
Didnt perform as well as Grad in any sales arena, did about half of what Grad did and still gets outstreamed by grad. Also a casual fan wouldnt take mbdtf over grad a lot of the time
Mbdtf still is a huge album though idk what to compare it to
