Yeah but what does this have to do with Tyler specifically?
I just told you what it has to do, why they putting a relatively unknown album over a more popular, more critically acclaimed album? They also put a EP over him.
I mean, it's not bon iver's fault, happy for them to get the recognition they deserve, but it's still fishy to me
Why are the Grammies endorsing i,i? S*** wasn’t even good let alone something that I would think to see at the Grammies
Solange basically got no nominations for not making Cranes In The Sky/A Seat At The Table 2?
Yo wtf didn’t even think about this. All this thrash got nominated and she ain’t mentioned anywhere
IGOR is NOT worthy of an AOTY or RAOTY nomination
Maybe R&B tho
def worthy of AOTY
This is correct, but I think it’s gotten to the point where it’s wayyy past us allowing it or ignoring it cus good enough artists were still winning/nominated in those years. Like sure it was s*** before but it’s somehow managed to decrease to even s***tier levels that are more blatant than ever
It was probably the best it had been in the late 2000s/early 2010s but if we go way back they didn't give Bob Marley a Grammy until 2000s, the Rolling Stones until 1980s, Chuck Berry, Hendrix, the Kinks, the Who and even with legends they always supported like Dylan they missed most of his best eras.
It's not like these are obscure artists who got more appreciated over the years, the mainstream media and fans praised them endlessly in their eras but the Grammys just always been out of touch.
It's weird that the media and fans play into the Grammys so much. but we love awards shows for some reason
They legit never bring anything worthwhile to the conversation. Maybe with the exception of some of the very specialist shows like in the UK we have the Folk Awards or MOBOs giving a space to artists who don't always get the attention. But these ones that try to include every genre never end well going back to the 50s and 60s throughout history... The performances are cool but that's about it
How bad has the year been for rap when a YBN Cordae album and a Dreamville compilation album are nominated for RAOTY
I feel like with the rap noms they'll only nominate from a relatively small place. There's been some high quality projects this year, they'd just never make it into RAOTY categories.
Still been one of the weakest years for mainstream rap projects tho for sure
Why are the Grammies endorsing i,i? S*** wasn’t even good let alone something that I would think to see at the Grammies
it's the worst Bon Iver album yet but it's the one the Grammys decide to jerk off
22 deserved

These nominations are random af too, like why isn’t someone like Future nominated who is and more mainstream and had a way better album than all the nominees
Nas shouldn't be in AOTY though
EP is literally right in the title it's not an album
With that being said I believe Ariana deserves album of the year for thank u next
She pretty much ran 2019
Lol she definitely did not run 2019. She phased out in March

Rap performance is one of the oddest categories for me. I get it's been a weak year for rap albums but could they really not find any tracks better than Clout and 2 J Cole songs to nominate
Lol she definitely did not run 2019. She phased out in March
Ariana had some big songs but this feels like Billie's year when it comes to pop all things considered
This year has not been the best so it's no surprise the nominations are s***. Roddy Rich got a nomination tho that's big.
so we gonna act like meek aint getting RAOTY?
🤣🤣
it's the worst Bon Iver album yet but it's the one the Grammys decide to jerk off

Fr.
All of their last three are incredible and yet they waited for this one
You might hate Billie Lizzo and Lil Nas but they clearly ran music this year no question
Cordae getting that industry hype. He definitely gonna phase out by next year like the other best new artists
