providerso this is honestly what i'm a lil confused about. and i checked out homie's music, he got some aight stuff. they wanna throw him in the Best Rap Album for some reason? fine.
but the Best New Artist nom is where it gets funny. this nigga won a super lowkey rap american idol hosted by netflix and chance the rapper. and effectively did nothing afterwards. we didn't hear a single. we didn't see him anywhere besides i think having one of those up and coming artist BET Awards performances.
every one who heard his album had to seek it out, it wasn't by force. what did he do to be put up there with Meg and Doja and Phoebe? it's just weird. especially when there were plenty other male rappers to choose from who blew up this year to fill that spot.
