I really don't get who would be mad/shocked at this It is just the chorus, not the ACTUAL rapping verses.

This is like if we found out that the Jay-Z didn't write Alicia's chorus on Empire State of Mind or Eminem didn't write Rihanna's chorus on The Monster (which I'm pretty sure he didn't there's a reference out there).

It has nothing to do with their actual verses on the songs.

My favorites write all their own raps.

but do they make the song?
writing raps is different from making the song. I'll give you this Kendrick and Cole seems like the type

Good pop song but Kendrick feels tacked on.

I like when he hits that kinda Thug esque triplet flow on the verse, reminds me of ‘Me or Us’

I'm guessing its just the vocal melody for the hook

    Oh lmaooooo

I do think Daveon Jackson wrote on it though and as far as I can tell he’s only a songwriter not a producer

he's a composer, most likely aided with the melody in the instrumental

wow how interesting drake doesn't write some of his music

like what is there to talk about why would you post this

thread is already 11 pages so clearly it’s something to talk about..

and again.. this is the MUSIC section. Op posting about music.

ppl make threads everytime dj akademiks post some bs or everytime bhad babie does something.. it’s way worse s*** in this section than a post about a reference track lol

your fault for expecting your life to change over a thread on ktt2.

honestly idc much if someone helped/wrote greece or in my feelings or any of the pop singles since in pop its normal to do it and pop songs are usually some hardest songs to write

if i found someone wrote 5am in Toronto or draft day then thats something

i agree with @safe that most rappers are mostly likely getting help writing hooks since they aren't singers (probs good thing tho, huge weakness of rappers usually their hook game is weak which make the song not listenable)

i am sure when you first start writing hip hop tracks the part you focus on is the verses not the hook

It actually shouldn’t matter either way. This so called artistic integrity isn’t relevant anymore because none of these rappers are in the streets doing battles. It’s all made for mainstream success. The only thing we should care about is the final product

    This is only a snippet

It was on repeat for like 45 secs and it was literally just the chorus. It seems likely that was basically the majority part of what he contributed.

Never fallin', why you makin' problems?
I've been silent, why you makin' problems?
I'm a problem, bein' rich is not my fault
You decide who you think the s*** reside with
I been quiet, hard to miss me when I'm flyin'
Gone out to Caicos, she can stay in my room
She can stay in my room, and it ain't my
I was tryna play it right
I was tryna treat you nice
Funny how I had to stop
    See me when I'm outside
    We ain't have a problem
Then you went and found one
How you gonna get a bag?
She can't help but get attached
    See me when you're outside
    See me on the Southside
I could tell you're sick inside
'Cause she just wanna love me
    She don't wanna leave me
    She just wanna love me
    She don't wanna leave me

I def don't think OZ could've wrote any of that, that's been similar lyricism that Drake has had the last 2-3 years on songs aside from him lmao. The paranoid, accusing people of switching up, beef addressing lyrics.

  • Aug 20, 2020

apparently OZ uploaded this to his IG a year ago, not really a leak
