They calling this Friday Night Lanterns, more football than Lanterns lmao
Any Given Lantern
I kind of wonder how cosmic this one would’ve been
I don't want anything touched by the guy who made the 2011 movie and the Arrowverse
First of all, she’s a cop so her being trigger happy is totally believable.
Second of all, she thinks she’s protecting her son by shielding him from the world. She didn’t even know that Noah already knew what he was.
neither one of these justifies the decision (both the writing decision and the decision made by the character in the moment)
Is this canon to the Superman movie coming out ? Someone said it wasn’t
it absolutely is!
it absolutely is!
Gotcha I mean obviously but they were trying to argue with me that it wasn’t I didn’t have time to research that Ty 🥺🫡🙏
its solid but watchmen much better but Watchmen has more freedom to go deeper on topics not superficially and isnt a universe. Watchmen I thought the ending was rough but in comparison to this its not that bad to me
I agree :)
Now that the show has come out can we admit that yes even though it’s a great written show this whole grounded approach probably is not the best for Lanterns? There was not one green lantern construct in a show about green lanterns in their season finale and that’s weird i’m sorry
And then MoT comes out and John is creating crazy constructs to then go back to being grounded in S2 using 1 construct every 3 eps with every human being an alien in disguise

finale was amazing, honestly made me appreciate the show a lot more in terms of a very complete story it told about fear, programming and generational divides.
but ay, there should absolutely not be a season 2. and let's follow this with a John Stewart film come on

It was a bad decision by the character. It was a HUMAN decision and that’s the point.
How many instances do we see cops making bone headed split second bad decisions with a gun in their hand? It was the most believable thing to happen in the episode.

it isnt a greatly written show. A grounded show for the tv bugdet they will get with black leads isnt the best approach for lanterns it the ONLY APPORACH.
Constructs added into the finale or all throughout the show isnt even going to save the show for many people complaining
loved this show up until the ending
that was just a dumb way for him to die im sorry
I mean I get it lowkey lol

I mean, i guess?
Idrk what "best approach" would mean, because this is genre(the superhero genre) where different heroes experiment with different genres, tones, etc. all the time. I would say the grounded approach was well executed for the story they were trying to tell with Lantern lore.
They could have just as easily made a show with crazier constructs, and more cosmic action; but it end up being a trainwreck.
That's not to say that I'm not itching for them to get more fantastical with Lanterns stuff. But I'm hoping the success of season 1 leads to more seasons with bigger budgets, which allows them to go crazier with visuals and fantastical stories.
I agree that I wouldn't want a full 5 season Lanterns series of JUST this. But I think this is the best approach for what they wanted

Episode 7 had great writing imo
I like a lot of the writing tho
This tells me that season 2 of the show is gonna be more grounded aliens in disguise Earth s*** for budget reasons. They're using the excuse that he's Earth's lantern and isn't connected to the Corp so they won't have to touch any of that. Lame
Yep smh
