I dont think elements for a clear plot reason are jingling keys. There are very important reasons for that interactions. I think the light like the bat signal was a bit jingling keys. But they have made clear since the beginning of the show that the powers wont be used randomly without serving a purpose. As @NobodyWins said what part of this episode 6,7 or 8 did you want him to use powers that serves the plot. I am all for you using an example. yes they clearlly used a lot of the budget in episode 5 but it made sense there was a reason to do so.

I dont like people forced to add in special fx and action because the audience has a mixed attention span or is just waiting for their next hit
