Ehh a few things I disagree with but these are more valid criticism towards the show than its been getting. Although I don't think any of them make the show a miss

The main one being the murderer mystery just isn't that compelling because of how underdeveloped Rushville is, to the point in 2026 there really were only 2 people that could of done it and noah is barely a character.

Also not sure why the 1st video thinks its impossible for a s2 to get made lol

Nothing about Gunn saying this then using him to market the show shocks me. He should have offered Lindelof fortunes but appears he didn’t want it . I get they wanted to give a voice to young black writers but those writers decision making both in the writing then what they’ve said in podcast is so disconnected . Their idea of blackness is very much like black twitter . Disconnected from reality and not seeing the full range of black experience .

Calling someone satan ever is crazy . Doing it over a writing decision then hiring them to write also crazy . I didn’t love the finale of lost I watched it live but lol

Yeah I'm with you on Rushville not being a very compelling setting, mostly ending up as a hodgepodge of small town-isms but not much of a lived-in feel. And yeah, Noah is pretty much a non factor up until the last episode imo lol

I think it’s fair his opinion changes and don’t think Lindelof is to blame for a show he didn’t showrunner and every episode he was on had a cowriter . That already told me what Gunn thinks of him lol

Its always okay to have issues with art and give constructive criticism but many acting like "why even try to make a lanterns tv show without having the required quota of constructs and special effects" . When Lanterns and what this show is and means for so many is about more than special fx. Even if it had a budget of a billion dollars the greatest practical effects in the universe , the greatest actors what EMOTIONALLY MOVES YOU. What sticks with you is the WRITING AND STORYTELLING. So as adults eventually we have to move past "it didnt look cool every episode some episodes are boring" and get into ADULT conversations about the writing. Even if the writing was done in good faith addressed racism, addressed white people not retiring and coveting power. Cops. Authority and questioning it.

All topics I hold dear. You have to be able to move past arguments of constructs to talk about why the show will or wont stick with you and why you will or wont continue watching. If you wont continue watching and you're done thats perfectly fine.

But art to many of us is more than that. We understand your disappointment. S*** many of us would love more constructs but we went into this show seeking to see what they WOULD NOT HAVE TIME TO DO IN MOVIES. Which they did and they did accomplish. An origin for Hal, John, more info on Guy and lanterns which they would not be able to fit into movies even if they ran movies for 10 years.

The memes are funny . We can laugh . Many of us are but it gets to a point where many are being dishonest.

This again to me mirrors the Resident Evil discussion of people wanting select characters or lore things vs wanting to see a movie that feels like Resident Evil.
