I think is easier to consume when you clearly see he's a suited GL constantly using his powers. Guy in DCU so far, like regular GLs, are usually just always suited so audience didn't need to think about it being something he can take off and hang in a closet.

When you strip that to introduction of Hal being in civilian clothes most of the time and flying off without other visible GL indicators it comes off way different.

Nah, but only because Guy's suit is a uniform from Max Lord, which is why all the Justice Gang have similar suits.
