Writer Tom King has the comic book credentials to infuse “Lanterns” with plenty of references for fans, but he also brings a wealth of spy craft and detective knowledge from an unlikely place: He worked as a CIA counterterrorism officer from just after 9/11 to 2009:
tom king has written a total of 4 good stories (that only seem good because the bar for comics has been on the floor since 2009)
was this not known about tom king? he's a cia spook. I wouldn't be surprised if the gov is interested in actively dumbing down media, because hoo-boy was tom king's contribution sure helped

this makes the ending of lindelof's watchmen funnier
like damn u so pro law enforcement u even writing w the feds now lol
streets saying hal dies at the end of episode 1
god thats such dudebro writing....
"bro we gotta make green lantern super serious, like what if we killed green lantern in the first episode bro?!"
Since the show deals with 2 timelines, 2016 and 2026. Im guessing 2016 will be about Hal and his past and then 2026 will be something from Hal's past coming back and causing a threat to the town. Which is where he's mentoring John and they're investigating something in the town. Then Hal gets killed and John has to pick up the pieces and solve the mystery.
Sounds like it could be compelling and interesting but killing Hal first episode is bold
The plot of Lanterns plays out across two timelines. In 2016, John, just two months into his training, joins Hal to investigate a shooting in Rushville, Neb., that might have an alien connection. There will then be flash-forwards to 2026 to undisclosed events that the team is saving for a later reveal.
Nah I was wrong
They finally decided to show them lanterning, got sick of getting called Normal Guys.
