Niggas inspired the current drumless/minimal drum wave in rap just to pivot back to the played out sound that created a hunger for their niche to begin with

just cause they had a period of chasing trends before they made their own lane doesn’t mean that’s their origin
Im well aware. I didnt say his sound came from them, that is just where they started out. I dont really think of it as chasing trends myself. Those are easy beats to rap over when you are starting out, and if that is where you start out, that is kind of the origin of how you begin to rap, no? You been around enough to know what im talking about anyway.
