Oh lord the thinkpieces over a random mixtape full of leaks and throwaways have started. Thoughts? I'm going to give mine in more depth later and it's going to be a long one.

They want Drake to make some big political statement or talk for a specific group of people. But if he did the same people would call him inauthentic

I swear there’s a new thinkpiece on Drake every 2 days... Even when he’s not active

    He keeps the lights on

It’s amazing just the impact Drake has. Everyone stops what they are doing to listen to him and then form an opinion and then go out of their way to write about it. Whether they love him or hate him, they always tune in to hear what he has to say. Very few artists have this type of impact.

    I think it's worth a read.
Agree with him on certain points.
Disagree with him on a few others.
He's also self aware and acknowledged that his expectations of Drake might not even be fair.

But overall it felt like him writing from the perspective of an actual fan and not a freelance writer who was paid to review and write something for clicks.

Also CRINE at him comparing Drake to KanYe, Kendrick and OUTKAST. Like they not even active.

Drake has already spoken about his child in his music so it’s lazy and disingenuous to act like he doesn’t get personal because he gets more personal than most of his peers. I do not want a full album of songs about his son I would like a wide range of topics that also include fatherhood. It’s also ok to admit that you may have outgrown him musically he can’t be everything to everyone, holding him to the fire about things you don’t even care about from artists you claim to be better than him is also laughable.

There just isn’t much to say about his fatherhood that people 30+ will relate to besides maybe coparenting

Anything in the virtue of black lives matter, police brutality, or American problems will get him called “Canadian”, “light skin”, “privileged”, and “soft”.

I myself don’t want to hear Drake rap about taxes, credit scores, or 401ks. He has a lane and sticks to it, which is why he’s where he’s at.

Nobody cares bout your a***ysis either

Drake should double down and drop his reggae album 🙇🏾‍♂️

  • May 5, 2020

I’m sure he’s gonna talk about his kid here and there but having a kid doesn’t make you entitled to talking about it in your raps.

I get some of his points even though he spent half the article making a point and then saying "I'm not knocking Drake though."

Going from So Far Gone to Dark Lane Demo Tapes and suggesting the growth was minimal is crazy. You don't become the biggest artist of the decade by doing the same s*** for 11 years.

  • May 5, 2020

What did he say was so baf. He acknowledged drake and his success. He just said he can't relate to him no more. Obviously their lifestyle is way different now.

Niggas see criticism and say its hate. The only person really hating is Fantano

Yeah, in so many ways. The article isn’t really worth paying attention to because this is all revolving around a mixtape of leaked songs. The way Drake has spoken about the album, it seems as if it’s gonna contradict a lot of the points he made. Which is why you shouldn’t be writing articles over a mixtape of leaked songs.

  • "Growing out of Drake"... Says the person that's gonna listen to the next Drake album
