Um......when did I say otherwise? It doesnt matter if it was an artistic choice or technological. If anything it was probably a bit of both as the games were over the top in other areas as well as just the art style. What does that have to do with them not changing the aesthetic for this game graphics?

yeah I'm not sure entirely what that'll entail, Rockstar will probably still have all the original assets at the very least so the new team might have found a way to reverse engineer the whole thing

Otherwise they can probably go through the work of rebuilding the game so to speak considering they've got all the pieces, it'd just be more work than your average port/remaster.
