i just remember watching someone play for an hour and the gameplay looked s*** and similar to avengers, essentially rpg dmg sponges

It looks like that and we all expected that but the writing and story is genuinely some of the best in years. Amazing characters, great dialogue, licensed songs, emotional moments full of heart and love. It’s real real good surprisingly

The gameplay is pretty much what it looks like but even that, when you’re invested in the relationships (happens early on), even hearing the guys fighting together and making jokes together, complimenting each other etc. even that feels good

Gameplay isn’t amazing but it’s decent. The story and writing are the main appeal. The different worlds are nice too. It’s a really nice adventure game

Pretty much. Im usually a big gameplay guy but I was able to look past the average gameplay because the rest of the game is just that good. I hope that they improve the gameplay if they make a sequel tho

this is actually sad af to see. avengers really f***ed every bit of success this game truly deserved.

Honestly it’s pretty regular for square to overestimate sales and consider their games disappointing sales-wise. this is just in reference to initial release sales. Apparently it’s selling pretty good as we speak so a sequel wouldn’t be out of the question

If there’s a sequel they need to do a proper marketing campaign ffs. Make people understand that this isn’t another avengers

doesnt help that the trailers they showed off for this game did it absolutely zero justice. i loved this game but i cant admit that i thought it looked like ass from the way they were showing it off. only reason i copped it was cuz of word of mouth from people actually playing it lol

Great characters, great world building and setpieces, great story, nice music, etc.
gameplay is pretty much the only average thing unfortunately but everything else is so well done I can excuse it
