new bomber sample

Don't even know what I'm really looking at outside of the test dummy on the left
I'm pretty sure the statement "trap or die" was about himself and his position, not advice for the whole world
telling you as a nigga from atlanta that is NOT how that was taken lmaooooo
Don't even know what I'm really looking at outside of the test dummy on the left
related to the new song title is all
telling you as a nigga from atlanta that is NOT how that was taken lmaooooo
How people take it is different, you can't control how someone takes something
Just like the idiots that think Rappers talking about "I'll f*** yo b****" is literally about their own girl and get genuinely upset about it - that's on them
Jeezys music and titles was clearly about his own situation and others in a similar situation like him, and he has also always had another message to a lot of his stuff that if he could and you could find a different way then you should take it - which leads into his later music in life that's moreso about reminiscing and reflecting while doing a different path like I've Seen It All etc.
My point was he wasn't literally telling "you" to trap or die, it was not advice or a command, it was a statement about his own literal situation and those few that are in a similar dead end predicament

you saying literally what every rapper has said since the 90s when critics was getting at them for pushing content to the impressionable audience the only thing that's missing is you comparing this to movies.
You and I both are old enough to know exactly how music can influence the minds of the impressionable youth. Just like how in the early 90s the afrocentric themes of urban music preceded an uptick of "conscious" thinking folks (for better or for worse), let's not act like these folks aint see what the influence their music can have on the youth.
Juice WRLD told Future he inspired him to drink lean dawg.

And they've been right since the 90s and beyond, maybe people need better grasp on separating entertainment from reality, or one man's story and life from your own, which comes with a lot, but it can happen and does happen with people that are taught
I'm also old enough to know this type of talk in music didn't start with Rap, it exists in Jazz, Soul and Funk too for black people (gangs, d****, violence etc ), and even white people wild West cowboy music n midwest emo, and Spanish ballads - that all come from the same origin point in life of a govt, society and community that has f***ed them over and given up on them, some of them like black people didnt have it to begin with
These stories and statements and paths of life wouldn't exist in the first place if the core social, financial and political issues that cause it didn't happen or would get corrected
These statements and stories of certain paths of life are a reaction to issues bigger than them that led people down these paths
This type of lifestyle and survival is a byproduct, which this type of music is a byproduct of that byproduct - take out the real issue (major financial inequality, govt and job industry abandoning certain areas, the concept of a ghetto in the first place, the d*** issue that gets ignored, underfunded and limited school options, way too much land space that isn't walkable and makes communities distance etc.) then there is no more byproducts
It's not this kind of Rap or this kind of people's fault that this is where they were pushed to and forced to figure it out
It didn't start with Rap, and it won't end with it neither - it's a symptom but the actual condition
Need better support, and better literacy, but this is said easier than done, especially when it's literally being stopped

Because terminator is telling the audience from a REAL location and using the names of REAL deceased black kids that they a b**** ass nigga for not hopping out the porch.
Yeah the same thing.
Love hip hop. Lol.
And yes we can walk and chew gum at the same time, socioeconomic circumstances do exist but it gotta come a point where accountability comes into play dawg

That is literally one specific aspect of Rap within a niche that is an extreme, like NY Drill. But even then it still goes back to what I'm saying initially
And I'm saying yes, there should be accountability, it should be on the listener. The rappers (that isn't pump faking) and those real life people n areas of a similar ilk are literal victims in a bigger picture. It isn't their "fault" the music or life path is what it is and especially the why to the how it came be.
Disagree. You can't seperate it. Rap literally exists due to these conditions and it's why you literally have the music you are against. How do you get rid of the music you don't like that is overall coming from a negative space? You fix the issues that are causing that reality being expressed in that music you are against. That is, literally "it" and cannot be separated if you want to go towards this kind of conversation. Trying to seperate it is not having an actual conversation and is just complaining without solutions or understanding. It's hard to Rap about flowers and puppies when your reality is the opposite, some of these places don't even flowers lol. Their soil is poisoned! Like in places of the Midwest, Southwest n South, or over industrialized like in some places of the east and west.
"Gangsta" Rap, which we didn't even call it that, it was a label made by the media and political leaders, was made literally to express a reality that was and would still be covered up by the literal government and news media (we as in West Coast literally, initially, called it Reality Rap) - and to also make music that spoke to and relates to the people living that reality that is covered up and ignored and beaten on, which the govt and news tried it's damnest to shut up and taboo this music to not expose a reality they created and still are perpetuating. Which they did cover up and lock down on Jazz and Funk already with these subject matters and exposing.
Again, its hard to Rap or sing about flowers and trees when your reality is poor water sources, low income housing, a govt that has literally pulled most if not all its resources out of your area and you have no real education or job prospects. Plus youre broke and likely under educated already, so moving isn't a real option and everything is spread out anyways on purpose to keep black people separated and to boost the automobile industry. And this isnt just back in the day, this is still the case today. Places are still abandoned, people are still stranded, and help is still stripped in wide swathes of the country.
I mean Rap itself as the HipHop genre was literally created because black schools in New York got a bill that took away music programs from low income schools even something as simple as learning to read sheet music that would have costed pennies. Thus led an advancement in the fledging sampling technique, the DJ turntable fader and the modern interpretation of Rapping. No instrument lessons, no music theory lessons, no singing lessons and you're already in a f***ed up place in a f***ed up school. Thus relying on Rapping and Sampling. Rap was literally created out of neglect and abuse, and cobbling together some sort of solution for a dead end situation. The forced uppn real life issues are literally intrinsic to the genre's existence.
No, I can't blame music or musicians that is reflecting reality that is literally happening. And has only happened because that reality was forced upon them and us. And those people in that reality also deserve a voice and relatability as well. And it's not just Rap that has this kind of subject matter in their music, and it existed as subject matter in other forms of music before HipHop was even created - for both black people and non blacks. It doesn't start or end with Rap nor is it's Rap's fault.
Now an idiot that acts upon it, especially when they're disconnected from it, they're the ones that need to be held accountable. To me.
YOU are the one saying that these two black men should have killed each other. you’re a f***ing lame
You keep trying to pull the “you’re saying these two black men should’ve killed each other” and make it like I’m cheering on the destruction of my people.
I’m saying these are two street niggas, this is the lifestyle they live, this is what they represent and push to the people.
I would say the same if it was two Italian mafia guys or two Yakuza, two Triad, etc
Gucci went against the rules he set for himself. Thats why his own base is disappointed in him
These blue pallets heavy af

See the problem... Gucci aint been a street nigga for over a decade. Gucci don't live in the streets no more. The imagery he puts on to sell records is... just imagery. There was no big announcement "Hey guys I'm not a street nigga anymore".
The people overly angry at him are people who fell to deep into the fallacy. Because what a lot of people dont understand is street niggas make rules for you to follow that they themselves break.
Yes Guwop is a hypocrite, and prolly a snitch, but also a 50 year old business man with a wife, kids,10s of millions of dollars. At some point self-preservation overrides street rules and the opinions of random niggas. Pooh sheisty thought he was kidnapping trap house Gucci and now his whole life is prolly over.
chuckling to myself every time I think about Scooter saying “Snitchin’ at an all time high now”
