man I remember seeing him on IG occasionally and then seeing that gummo snippet randomly before it dropped and thinking oh s*** this is actually hard
then some time after that going to my cousins house and two of his friends show up and while we're chilling one friend asks the other friend "yo you heard dannys new song?" and it ends up being this s*** and I was like
then I find out they basically grew up with him and were childhood friends lmao so f***ing random

You from NY?
this song represents a weird transitional limbo between his old style and aesthetic and the dumb gang s*** he got famous on. song is hard but it sucks that he left his actual old stuff prior to this, that trap metal s*** he was doing w/ zilla & trippie prior like yokai, hellsing station, sinaloa, owee, shinigami he'l never top

That trap metal s*** ain’t really for the mainstream tho. Zillakami and city morgue have yet to really blow up. 69 always been clout hungry so he had to change it up to reach more people and it worked. It lead to his downfall as well but it worked

Yeah, you're right, he was aiming for the most amount of money and clout possible and it wasn't going to happen through that angle. It just sucks because I think in terms of quality and interest that was his best/most interesting work

This song was also probably the most aggressive hip hop song out at the time too tbh
Everything else out was either super autotuned out or emo soundcloud s***
Vlonely I hope you are enjoying a relaxing Friday and gearing up for a fun weekend
I am doing both of those things man thank you :)
Hope the same for you
why do you care about the four year anniversary of Gummo? Where was your thread about the three year anniversary of Gummo? Gummo - One Year Later, where was that?
Autism
Never even heard this trash lol
???????????
u cap if u say u wasn’t fw this when it dropped dats all imma say
I still don’t like this song to this day, I don’t think it’s anything special. I think it was just at the height of 69 meteoric rise, and the video made it go viral along with the “blicky” line.
He got way better songs
It’s crazy that DAMN dropped before Gummo. 69 became a star, went to jail, snitched, came back home, fell off and Kendrick has yet to drop an album
