You think Dawn will sell less than 90K in its 2nd week?
It will get #1 eventually. If not in its 2nd week then when the physical copies will be sent out which will happen at the end of the month. Unless an A-list drops an album that week but nothing announced so far.

On one hand I get it and I agree it’s unnecessary in general which is a conversation for another day but all that considered…..

As we have watched The Weeknd evolve from niche artist who was only known or actively listened to by people who enjoy his music to a major artist these are the things you have to deal with. He’s a big dawg now and the big dawgs are prone to mass backlash whether it’s fair or unfair it just is what it is. Any of the other heavy hitters in the industry have to deal with it and he is no exception. That’s the irony I find in all of this

weeknd always been super vocal about being over the moon with #1, there is no way this wont hurt his ego lol especially considering he's been trying to upgrade to stadiums lately. He wants to be a huge superstar

nothing you said is wrong on a major public scale. i thought we were talking about how it transfers to ktt2 specifically and is so intensified. it makes spending time on the site whack as f*** imo but people seem to get a lot out of all the trolling and whatever. it's clear i'm washed

It most definitely will. It'll be lucky to sell 75K in it's second week. Dawn FM debuted with less than 15K digital sales. That shows he doesn't have massive selling power without bundles so I don't see him putting up massive numbers when physicals become available. In comparison, CLB debuted with 46K in digital sales.

This a L for Abel.

The album is his best yet but the marketing didn’t match up.

Dropped Take My Breath 6 months ago and then did f*** all except tweet “The Dawn Is Coming” and a couple of features. Then gave the album 4 days notice. A lot of the general public around me didn’t even know it was out.

Imagine if he gave himself a proper set up like Adele did and dropped Sacrifice and announced with it that the album would be out in 30 days. By then the single would have been huge (shit is blowing up now) and people would have been tuned in.

Have to say though, I doubt this will matter in the long term. Weeknd albums have super longevity. Gunna’s sales won’t hold like this and by next week Weeknd will have his no.1 and by the end of the year after all the singles from this album blow up it will probably be the highest selling overall of the year.
