In a way Gunna and Drake faced similar situations of being shunned by mainstream rap and their frequent fans and collaborators.
Drake obviously can still find features as a lot of rappers still f*** with him, but Gunna was left without his regular collabs and without Wheezy and still got to release a great album with a #1 hit and won over the public. And now he’s back to talking to some of the rappers who shunned him.
I believe in Drake’s ability to release a great solo album with big hits, especially if he feels pressured to do it.
However, Gunna’s position as an underdog is part of the reason the public likes him so much. While with Drake he’s been the biggest rapper for the last decade and a lot of the public already wanted him to fail unlike Gunna.
Plus people will obviously care more about pedophilia than snitching so it would ruin Drake’s public image way more.
Do you think Drake will have an “underdog” moment and redeem himself?
For All The Underdogs out soon
Drizzy the goat if he drops a Fukumean tier chune on our headtops for the summer
Compare it also to Taylor Swift and the #TaylorIsOverParty during 2016. Following in her footsteps by going ghost for awhile and then coming back with a grandiose traditional rollout especially if it alludes to getting into more detail into what happened from his perspective, it could be beneficial to him. She’s bigger than ever, after all

ew is that ai Jayson tatum
ew is that ai Jayson tatum
Possibly
these two of my goats. both very different situations, being called a snitch aint as bad as that other label Drake is getting. actually gonna be interesting to see who keeps their distance/stops working with Drake. could affect him, could not. but he’s gonna have to have an undeniable body of work, and he hasnt had that since IYRTITL

this is the best take i’ve seen on this actually. def could work. although i will say she did a lil bit of leaning into the “villain” arc by “reclaiming” the snake identity she garnered. not sure if that same thing will be smart for Drake
think he should go completely introspective/backpack raps for a lil minute
drake’s biggest hits were all solo and he’s still an elite rapper and amazing songmaker none of that changed he’ll be fine

Yeah definitely don’t think that’s the way to go but a rebrand in a sense especially if it’s a return to form would be huge. I know you remember when that “take care” like picture was going viral everyone thought we were about to get another version of that and the hype levels were going crazy off that alone
Edit: found the pic

lol but Taylor wasn’t accused of being a pedophile though. And Kanye not exactly a reliable figure like Kendrick.

need 2014-2016 drake back. great rapper, relatable, making great music everyone can enjoy. leave the street stuff to the side for a little unless it’s super authentic toronto stuff if you’re reading this had
Gunna made the right choice tbh. Thugger is going down for 25 minimum if convicted.
Drake's issues were very avoidable.

yup. lay low and rebrand. lose everything he’s adopted and go back to being on some toronto s***

I agree it’s not a 1:1 comparison but it was more so a prominent figure that had overstayed their welcome in the eyes of the GP so everyone was quick to escort them out of the limelight. If nothing damning outside of what has been brought to the surface materializes he’s going to be fine in that regard (not an argument of right or wrong just speaking about his career)

Need him to drop a rap #1 for this tho
