Haru and Luis love competing in Tokyo's ballroom dance scene, but after tragedy strikes, Haru withdraws into isolation. When friends coax her back to the studio, she develops an infatuation with the new instructor.

I kept thinking when she broke into his house and wiped his girls toothbrush on her shoe ‘this is like the evil version of Chungking Express’. Then at the end of the movie they played that Dreams song by the cranberries lmaoo

LITERALLY what I was thinking too. And didn’t they play dreams too later in the movie when she was dancing on the train?

In American theatres this Friday! The hype for this movie didn’t really materialise, felt like it was gonna be a thing but it’s kinda unceremoniously dropping in North America this weekend and is still going to be playing some festivals after that outside of the US.

Coming to my theater Looks really nice, definitely gonna catch it next week.

yeah. actually really annoyed because this should be an Oscar contender.

I had such a great time with this. So many gorgeous shots. Loved the friendship between the three ladies. Hiromi-chan is a real b****, I need to kick it with her. The chemistry with Fedir (and Luis) was great. The dance scenes, of course. The Dirty Dancing reenactment got me good, I wanted to start clapping in the theater but it was me and one other dude in there lol.

I like the way they dealt with the grief and didn't really ever overdo it. Then the last couple chapters just go nuts, maybe the jail bit was a step far lol but I couldn't wait to see where the story was going the whole time. Didn't cry but I was on the verge several times! This was funny and somber and joyful and all the things, man. Lovely, down to the title cards. Up there with my favorites of the year.

It felt like the epilogue could've ended like 3 different times, but I'm so glad it ended the way it did. Walked out the theater with a big ass smile on my face
