How could people hate this guy? Cause he nationalized resources? Is that why he and his wife should be killed and his country should be pillaged for the next decade? What kind of savages are Americans?

I’m not defending the U.S’ actions as I’m confident trump only acted out of self interest and doesn’t care for a regime change, but Maduro is a corrupt figure who did not help the Venezuelan people at all. You can’t ask if people hate him for “nationalizing resources” when he has led the country into poverty and despair with the world’s highest murder rates and hyperinflation to say the least.

He didn’t lead the country into poverty bruh the sanctions did
I read on the biggest Venezuelan forum. They at least seem to absolutely hate the guy and many have fled. They call him Capo Maduro. They think what trump did was great but shouldve done more: replace the vice president as well and I think place the opposition leader in power. Although they also found the opposition to be puppets who compromised by taking "some of the money" over actually doing s***. It seems they are also not sure what the perfect solution is, as corruption seems to run so deep.
Maduro is a criminal, but Trump sets a dangerous precedent. The world as we know it is gone and its due to one man. Or perhaps, Trump is mainly the avatar for the changing American civilization. Either way, over here in Europe, I am not too pleased. Especially considering the whole Greenland situation. We live in interesting times.

The first US sanctions were placed in 2015 and the country was facing economic troubles leading to collapse for a decade before that.
I am not against socialism by any means, but you have to recognize the difference between true socialism/democratic socialism and corruption that hides behind the title to funnel $.

Ppl always blame the sanction and then you read the list of sanctions and it’s like "4 members of the government are not allowed to fly helicopters anymore"

Obviously sanctions on smaller market countries are effective or else they wouldn't be used as the primary economic form of warfare by the US. The country that basically controls the world economy.
August 2017 to May 2018: Trump issues a series of executive orders targeting Venezuela, including a first that prohibits access to U.S. financial markets by the Venezuelan government, including state-owned energy company Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PdVSA). Another prohibits transactions related to purchasing Venezuelan debt and any debt owed to Venezuela pledged as collateral.
Jan. 28, 2019: OFAC designates PdVSA, calling it “a primary source of Venezuela’s income and foreign currency.”
