Depends on your hair type and what you want to achieve with it

inbetween wavy and curly, want to keep stuff minimal (currently only use conditioner every other day and shampoo every couple week) so i want to try their (leave-in) conditioner or maybe a mask or smth

or just something to give my hair a lil boost

Guys will spend bare money on food weekly yet hesitate to get a quality shampoo. Just remember that shampoo is essentially food for your hair, the quality of the product you use will showcase.

The Official KTT2 Hair Care Thread

Welcome! Feel free to ask me any questions or drop some of your own knowledge in here. I'm going to be recommending y'all some fantastic products and brands, some known and others that are hidden gems.

    SHAMPOO:

One of - if not the most important step, you need something that's gonna get rid all the dirt and gunk but not enitely strip away your hair's natural oil. Stay away from anything that contains parabens or sulfate. It's an absolute red flag that will dry out your scalp and create weak, thin hair. When purchasing one, you want ingredients that mainly contain healthy extracts.

    KEVIN MURPHY: PLUMPING WASH:

High-end Australian brand created by professional stylist Kevin Murphy.

Created to nourish every strand from root to tip, fine and ageing hair will transform into stronger, fuller-looking locks with renewed strength and vitality. Contains Aloe Vera Leaf Extract – Packed with essential vitamins and minerals, this natural conditioning agent helps to restore sheen, lustre and shine. Rice Amino Acid helps condition, strengthen and expand the diameter of the hair shaft. Also helps the hair appear thicker, and adds an overall more luxurious, silky sheen.

    PAI SHAU: REPLENISHING HAIR CLEANSER:

Pai Shau is a hidden gem, quite unknown but their quality is supreme. Their entire line is made with natural tea extracts, none of their products contain any sort of oils.

Formulated with advanced technology, Replenishing Hair Cleanser restores your hair back to its youthful appearance with a unique combination of amino acids and essential vitamins & minerals. The Signature Tea Complex deeply infuses hair with moisture, restoring its natural shine. The Replenishing Hair Cleanser is concentrated with the highest quality ingredients to create a luxurious lather.

    CONDITIONER:

Conditioner is perhaps the most important step in hair care. Where the shampoo washes away all of the dirt, debris and gunk, the conditioners job is to replenish it with healthy and nourishing ingredients.

    KIEHL'S: AMINO ACID CONDITIONER:

One of the oldest hair/skincare brands, Kiehl's has several collections dedicated for skin and hair issues. Their Amino Acid line is highly recommending for those in need of hair repair.

Contains: Coconut Oil, derived from the Coconut Tree, known as the “tree of life.” Used in Ayurvedic medicine for over 4,000 years, Coconut Oil is rich in fatty acids and known to nourish, hydrate and soften. Jojoba Oil is extracted from the beanlike seeds of the desert shrub Simondsia Chinensis and has been traditionally used by both Mexicans and Native Americans for skincare purpose. It reduces transepidermal water loss without completely blocking the transportation of water vapour and gasses, providing suppleness and softness. It is nurturing for the skin and helps to restore skin's natural lipid barrier.

    PAI SHAU: REPLENISHING CREAM CONDITIONER

Bring damaged, dry hair back to life with the Signature Tea Complex. It defies all odds by working as a deep conditioner to strengthen hair, while its velvety, light formula won’t add unnecessary weight to your delicate strands. Designed to rehydrate dry, lifeless hair while replenishing its natural sheen. The Replenishing Cream Conditioner contains a proprietary emollient blend of rice amino acids to strengthen the hair while hydrolyzed oat proteins calm the cuticle and restore luster. This velvety formula defies logic by infusing moisture without adding weight.

    OLAPLEX: NO.5 BOND MAINTENANCE CONDITIONER

A highly-moisturizing, reparative conditioner for all hair types. Leaves hair easier to manage, shinier and healthier with each use. Protects and repairs damaged hair, split ends, and frizz by re-linking broken bonds. It is color-safe and will strengthen and leave your hair stronger than ever.

All other products and suggestions will be posted throughout the thread when properly tried and tested.

    Conditioner rather than shampoo.

If you go 7 days a week

Shampoo: Monday - Wednesday - Saturday

Conditioner will still make your hair soft and pump more ingredients. Shampoo on the other days will come in and wash everything away resetting it after a heavy workout.

So is there like a gentle shampoo in the market? I feel dirty if I don't shampoo everyday , especially bc I work at a tire factory where its hot, sweaty, and smelly. Ideally id like to find a gentle shampoo that I can use everyday and a good conditioner , I have thin wavy-ish hair.

I use the the OGX shampoo conditioner line , I use the biotin one recently but ran out and using the coconut oil one at the moment. Are those harsh to use everyday on my hair? they claim not 2 have parabens and sulfates.

    thanks

Check out the Amino Acid Shampoo from Kiehls, it’s super light and contains coconut oil.

Another option is the Balancing Wash from Kevin Murphy which contains wheat amino acids & citrus grandis amongst other great ingredients. Those two help with nourishing the hair, boosting softness & shine along with pumping high volumes of vitamin c & e.

If you’re daily shampooing, MAKE SURE you’re providing your hair with some sort of hydration, whether it’s tea extract oil or any hydration cream.
