Don’t have a virtual reality set up so I’ve been watching gameplay and holy s*** I just saw what seemed to be the most intense bowel moving segment I’ve seen in any game, mainly because it’s in VR so I know it has to make your heart rate go berserk

I’m surprised they remembered the gnome

Nope you have to manually hold it

Bro yes! The whole segment just keeps you on your toes because you legit have to rely on your ability to be as cautious and quick thinking as possible. I bet having to handle that in VR was insane.
So this is revolutionary as most claim?
Is it worth getting a VR for?
if you already have a pc that can play it and like the other half life games id get a cheap headset for it
dont think it's worth buying a full setup for though

Game is playable without a VR?

I think yes. I’m playing it with a Samsung Odyssey+ ($230) and it plays fine. I also have an nvidia1070 in my desktop

Yeah she’s absolutely wild in VR. Most creeped out and scared I’ve been in a video game.
Damn I just caved and watched the ending on YT and wish I didn’t. Experiencing the ending in vr with no spoilers must be wild
first thought the time travel stuff was kind of a lazy cop out way to rewrite the story as damage control but sitting on it I think it works really well here without changing up the plot too drastically or asking too much from fans. Also provides context to why Gordon was summoned in the first place to city 17, crazy how g man had everything set in motion before he even summoned Gordon! But it still keeps a lot of mystery to everything in half life fashion too. Really can’t believe valve pulled the rug out under everyone and delivered a crazy way to continue the main HL storyline. I’m guessing epistle 3 is basically abandoned but they’ll still need to go to Antarctica?
I see some people saying this is another Alyx from another timeline, but I think that could negate or throw up in the air all events in HL2 and eps 1-2? Wouldn’t changing alyx’s fate in the past change all of those games stories then?
I think it makes more sense that this is the same Alyx we’ve always known and this had always occurred in the past. G man could’ve just wiped her memory and set her along her path/“assignment” and made up a cover story that made everyone none the wiser. Maybe the Combine were always aware of g man’s escape and past games could’ve referenced it in some way (ie: Breen making a mention of it ominously connected to Gordon’s arrival in city 17, etc.) but pretty negligible. Breens a pawn and isn’t high on their totem pole. the combine are still very mysterious that we still don’t really know who’s really running the show.
Anyone know best vr headsets or a good explainer video on them for which one to pick for this game? Or cool theories on the ending and story moving forward?
dunkey fell off HARD
really disappointed he trashed death stranding. his video for Alyx just shows gameplay clowning and that’s boring unless he ties it into a bit or what he’s trying to say about the game. His assassins creed and shenmue 3 vids are brutal cause of that

yeah stranding is def a divisive game with a lot of fair complaints you can level at it. I go back and forth on some of its big story points and struggled with some of its pacing and long cut scenes. def more than I had with any mgs game ive played. weakest part for me was design of most boss battles. too many feel repetitive and like they belong in an older gen game.
but the ’ups fetch quest game’ meme is a circlejerk thats more annoying than blind kojima worship. that felt like all his review was getting at when he’s capable of talking more about a game in depth and there’s a lot you can pick at it (good or bad) beyond its delivery system design. esp for him since he’s a big kojima fan.
the dunkey video made this s*** look f***ing awful
best dunk vid in a while tho
