I'll never do coke personally but I don't really have a serious problem with someone doing it at their own risk as long as they're grown and don't end up damaging their environment in some way.

Nobody is saying Tory can't tell his side. They're only highlighting that it's disingenuous to make a whole album about the situation in order to capitalize off of it and make money, and that people shouldn't entertain it because they're just putting money in his pockets.

S*** if he wanted to just make a single song about it then whatever. It's still a goofy look because it's a move for profit, but it's nowhere close to as egregious as a whole album where you start calling out anyone just for the f*** of it, and then throw in conspiracy theories as a means to further remove blame.

Realistically, if he's lawyer'd up he shouldn't have even released this album as most of the things he said on it will very likely be used against him.

Regarding the first paragraph - I actually addressed it in a post, a few posts above you. Like I said I don't really have any problem with it. When someone rubs you the wrong way you go for the first thing you can poke at. Everyone does this including you, you took it personally for no reason.

If that was her point then she should have just @'d Tory and told him what she had in mind about his release straight up. Attacking the listeners feels more preachy and opportunistic.

Hip hop music was always autobiographical, confessional and revealing even at the expense of making the listener uncomfortable. Tory Lanez spoke about the mess that's been going on in his life, if he felt like one song wouldn't be enough and the best way to do it was to extend it to an album length then who am I to argue? I still have the right to criticize the album ofc, but I can't prevent him from doing it.

He's still an artist after all, maybe songs are just the best way he can express his thoughts and emotions. The actual defense will be done in court and if he's guilty the law system will handle him.

Listening to the album I got the feeling that he thought there's a chance he'll be done soon, so he might as well put everything on the table and go out that way. Like him or not, he has every right to. I don't love the album and won't listen to it much but that's beside the point.

Sure he's making money off it but music is his profession and just bc he's been caught in terrible bullshit I can't see why he would want to stop eating. It's COVID time and artists can't do shows. Sure it feels like he's exploiting the situation in a way but it's not like he's forcing ppl to tune in.

I don't really know her or her music, she was a part of that terrible Chainsmokers song, but her new album got favorable reviews so maybe she's improved over time. But KTT described her as diet Lorde which doesn't tempt me to listen really.
