After Big Ole Freak blew up I thought that’s what we were getting. Everything about that song is dirty south/Houston. Seems really strange she and her team decided to pivot from that sound.

I think Megs problem (not really her fault) is she blew up too fast. I know she put in work beforehand but it’s like she skipped the bubbling stage. She went from no one really knowing her to being everywhere in an instant. So instead of Meg gradually building her fanbase and owning that Houston sound, she’s already mainstream with Cardi and Nicki. Therefore she’s releasing music that is too mainstream because the expectation is for Meg to be on the same level with those two (in regards of popularity).
