I believe my brother @Hereditary would love to partake in this convo
just watched this classic for the first time tonight, and man, this was absolutely beautiful black cinema is elite and this gets a 10/10 from me
Rewatched tonight. Makes me believe in love
highly underrated, incredibly funny and relatable. Not sure why a lotta ppl ain't like it. One critique I seen was "it's all over the place" but to me it's just a character study on a black man in LA
it’s a good movie but it’s too unintentionally hilarious at points. there is a lot of depth to it though, i remember i came across an essay a long time ago describing how Jody’s character is basically a prostitute and it completely blew my mind
Also Taraji is wayyyyyy better in roles like this rather than f***in Cookie in Empire
Baby boy is arguably her best role. Or Hidden Figures.
nah she was better as Cookie. at least during the first season when Empire was actually worth watching
Hidden Figures may be her magnum opus though
this show’s run was wayyy too short, it still makes me mad. they could have easily went 3 more seasons
greatest season of television ever made
it’s amazing to me that Michael B Jordan was the only child actor to blow up bc them lil niggas put him to shame. Michael Lee is one of the greatest fictional characters of all time
What is that gucci movie like
imma be real, i have not seen 90% of the films posted itt and it makes me feel a little embarrassed. @user is gonna see this and call me a new black
mambéty was gone way too soon but still managed to drop two all timers, this man was a singular talent
i’m mad as hell Dead Presidents isn’t on blu-ray. one of my favorite films, i need it in my collection
it’s a good movie but it’s too unintentionally hilarious at points. there is a lot of depth to it though, i remember i came across an essay a long time ago describing how Jody’s character is basically a prostitute and it completely blew my mind
“Nigga talking bout yea yea yea I heard u live at home wit ya mama ION WANNA HEAR THAT S***!!”
“Nigga talking bout yea yea yea I heard u live at home wit ya mama ION WANNA HEAR THAT S***!!”
Snoop ethered his ass right before that though
“Is this JODY? The same Jody who got MY boo pregnant? That’s still living at home with his mama and can’t take care of his responsibilities as a muthafuckin’ man? Niggas you’s a B****!”
that pops into my head at least once a month. one of the most quotable movies of all time definitely, maybe even more than Friday
What is that gucci movie like
lmao it’s really more about zay i watched it years ago but don’t really remember the plot other than he a producer/barber tryna blow and bank/gucci tryna sign him. Dude got me finna rewatch lol
this movie is a classic but still to this day, i haven’t finished it because it pissed me off so much and still does when i think about it
#JusticeForTeri
Jett Jackson damn
Just remembering watching that brings back so much nostalgia
