My friends and fellow posters, it is December 23 and once again, it is time for FESTIVUS. Are you tired of the commercialized aspects of the holidays? Maybe you’re over the religious sentiments? Maybe you’re lost in this travesty of a year and looking for something new to scratch that holiday itch? Well, Festivus is right up your alley. You might be wondering, “Jerry, what is Festivus?”
It’s based on a true story from one of the Seinfeld writers lives growing up, and it was highlighted in Season 9, Episode 10 of the hit sitcom “Seinfeld”, in an episode titled “The Strike”
To quote the late, amazingly talented Jerry Stiller from that episode:
“Many Christmases ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way. Out of that a new holiday was born. A Festivus for the rest of us. And at the Festivus dinner you gather your family around and tell them all the ways they have disappointed you over the past year. Instead of a tree, there's an aluminum pole. Requires no decoration. I find tinsel distracting.”
A shoutout from George Costanza!

Greetings everyone, we have reached this time of the year yet again. Depending on your time zone it is the 23rd or will be within the next several hours. That of course means, it is time for Festivus. The holiday for those of us that hate the commercialization of Christmas, the gifts, the fake niceness. Here we air our grievances with one another.
Festivus soon
