myheadphones just died nvm
So many wonderful artists I could highlight, but I'm gonna use this thread to put y'all on to one of my favorite female singer/songwriters, Laura Nyro
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQT0KbqcFxE!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntCJ4NTsf9o!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLGTC0NIrUUDiscovered her beautiful soulful music at a really low point and it changed my life. I could say the same about many, many essential female songwriters that she inspired, including Kate Bush and Julia Holter.
Laura Nyro is a goat frfr

man, so many queer black female rockers never got they just due man. Pops used to play the 2nd song all the time.
Been listening to this on repeat
!https://youtu.be/Ve6PSCUOYvESo soulful. She's one of those people who was born to make music, just has one of those voices that breaks hearts.
Everyone says such and such album changed their life, but New York Tendaberry really was one of those four me. Found it at a really low point and it sounds like melancholy itself, but it's also strangely uplifting in a way because there's so much humanity in there.
It's no wonder Kanye heard this and knew he had to flip it, such a great song
Link
