It’s just a reactionary take to make it seem as if you were ahead of the curve on the discourse.

Another comparison is when a celebrity or person of influence is shown to have a history of sexual harassment or something and there’s always people who respond by saying variations of “Yeah, I always thought there was something off about them”/“I never liked them.”.
