How does that matter to what they were when they were cast?
Like what evidence is there that they were much better actors when they were cast than these kids are now?
did you not read what I said
richard griffiths best performance in any of the movies btw argue with yourselves
Zag t aan hermelien
Heb bijna al die films in het nederlands gezien weet niet hoe je het anders zou zeggen hahahaha
only weak casting in the OG movies was Ginny, her and Daniel Radcliffe had 0 chemistry

Their relationship build up was just trash. Grew up thinking harry and hermelien would end up together
Stealing this from MJP who already has a Harry Potter thread
Sad
you been hating for a long time
I think hermioni / harry are fine
Ron looks ai generated tho
lol welp he’s not, he’s a human child so this is a weird ass comment
Radcliffe and Watson were pretty s*** actors
Radcliffe has actually been super awesome in comedies I’ve seen him in over the last couple years
I don’t think he was great in the role of Harry though

Ginny was written laughably horribly in the movies. Nothing like her book character. That’s one of the things I’m super excited to see them fix in this show, because she was a rad character in the books
live look at Lily's reaction to black snape making a move:
“Boy if you don’t get the f*** outta my face”
I think it's very funny that they think they're gonna do a season per year.
These kids will be near 30 by the time they reach the 6th book, and we'll be on our 3rd Dumbledore.
the VFX are probably what’ll suffer the most
The movies still ended up pretty consistently yearly only missing a year or two
Radcliffe and Watson were pretty s*** actors
I disagree. Sure there were growing pains in the first two films, but one thing Dan really brought to those early HP movies was his screen presence. Even in Sorcerer’s Stone he had haunted eyes. He carried Harry’s grief well. By the time we reach Order of the Phoenix, I would argue he’s the best of the main trio. Sure he had goofy moments, but so did everyone.
I mean 25 years from the first movie is kind of a long time lol
Fair enough. I should have clarified 30-50 years after the conclusion of the franchise. Sure, the trio look like great castings on the surface. But this still feels largely unnecessary. Kids being introduced to Harry Potter will just watch the movies, all of which are currently available. So that argument doesn’t really work.
They better not give Harry the broccoli cut.
harry potter being a 90s period piece was always funny to me but the wizarding stuff helps it feel timeless
They actually chose a Hermione with big teeth so the buckteeth jokes will make it until season 4
That is some really good casting visually. These kids need to be protected ASAP especially Hermione's actress. I can see the racism coming from a mile away if it's not already happening.
I don’t care about the castings. They’re obviously going to be inferior to Dan, Emma, and Rupert. This whole thing is just so laughable. This is one of the few franchises that should wait 30-50 years before attempting a reboot.

Maybe but the supporting cast were regularly some of the best actors on earth
