Never read the books and only ever saw chamber of secrets but why wouldn't kids today just be able to watch the old films? It's not like they're in black and white or anything. Aren't kids today really into nostalgia and Y2K and s***
Think people are just trying to find a way to make like other reboots when it’s simply not. It’s just the books adapted like the movies in a new format. Wizarding World faltered a bit so they retreated to what earned them billions.
Even if a kid watches S1 as their first exposure to HP (bad parents) and loves it, they’d very likely just watch the movies right after rather than waiting 10+ years to experience the stories in live action for the first time.
HP is still extremely popular with current kids globally and not a contained phenomenon. It’s not even like a new creative direction or like retelling for a new generation.
Malfoy looks pretty Gen Z here, is it going to take place in modern times?
What’s Gen Z about this looks like Victorian baby
Don't know why bro agreed to this, opened himself to a lifetime of racism from basement dwellers and people who pretend to care about fictional accuracy
hate it for that reason

Excited to see him do well, but yeah…
Gonna be hard to not see other parallels once we get to Snape being bullied IN the show as well by his (presumably white) classmates and colleagues.

Show isn’t for kids
It’s probably for my millennial buddies who went to the midnight releases for the books

I’d say for money
From Goblet of Fire onward, 100% yes
NEED the half blood prince
Was always so mad we never got the gaunt story
I’d say for money
And I think it’s cool to make racists mad, hopefully he has fun with it and doesn’t let it get to his head

Always best to not have or look at social media
Also Hans cooked on that trailer score
Yep. Idk how they create a theme that can hold up to the John williams score though
I used to think the lack of color in the Yates films were bad
What’s Gen Z about this looks like Victorian baby
His haircut
Hogwarts always looks like that

“We stay magicmogging the muggles and unaliving the mudbloods.”

He will play the role well and see a lot of praise, he’s the exact kind of actor snape needs

Have no doubt he will play the role well but it will be forever tainted by the negative discourse, these HP fans are Barbs tier of crazy and hella racist

Order of the Phoenix is a horribly edited film that feels like a bunch of scenes spliced together. I'm surprised non-book readers can even follow what's going on
