I listen to a lot of music, this sounds like an indie pop band’s version of Blinding Lights/Less Than Zero
oh brother.
oh brother.
It does, there’s no way y’all don’t hear it
Not a slight against the song but let’s be real here
And no, I’m not implying that Weeknd invented that style of music
The Weeknd’s influence here is clear, Harry’s first two albums contain nothing that sounds like this
Breaking news
Artists can evolve over time
Breaking news, Harry isn’t the first pop artist to come out with a single that sounds like this since the massive success of Blinding Lights
It’s a good song lmao but there’s nothing wrong with pointing out what the clear and direct recent influence is

She gets credit too because her singles were popping the same time Blinding Lights was ringing off
Lame that he abandoned his sound to chase hits
They tryna say I’m crazy for thinking this is a blatant attempt to chase a hit and capitalize on the 80s revival sound right now that Weeknd and Dua popularized
Lame that he abandoned his sound to chase hits
I don’t think he abandoned his sound at all
This isn’t that far off from other songs he’s made
i kinda see the weeknd comparisons but this sounds more like a strokes song to me
This is far closer to blinding lights and the weeknds version of "80s pop" than Dua. Let's stop saying the weeknd and dua were making the exact same style of pop music. And even then, I agree that this is a unique take on it. Harry's pulling more from actual Brit rock (not to say this isn't pop af, it is).

The sound of what? Adore You and Watermelon Sugar?
The sound of what? Adore You and Watermelon Sugar?
Honestly more the earlier self titled sound
I really liked him coming out with a single that avoided pop and commerciality as much as sign of the times did
And since then it’s felt like he’s heavily shifted to get more success which I understand but it’s a shame

Best take itt. The bpm is similar to BL which is why I get the comparison but this new single is literally a rehash of Age of Consent by New Order
this just made me want to listen to power corruption & lies. good on Harry for taking inspo from iconic british bands

i get what ur saying about mainstream sounds but that album is so f***in boring b
his new s*** is way more fun and I think different enough from what was on the charts in 2019
This single is incredible
Can’t wait for this album, think this is gonna be the one that really solidifies him artistically
It’s 80s inspired but Weeknd and Harry fill 2 different lanes for me
This single is great and full of energy, this damn near feels like a modern day Take On Me
