Most of the times in life we let ourselves off too easy.
Especially, but not excluding, those of us who had a harsh or cold/lonely upbringing with family or friends.
I’m convinced that the only right way to do this game called life is to instill in yourself the deeprooted belief that you can change your situation in life, you have the mental fortitude to do it, and that you will continue to work towards your goals until you completed your task.
From there on you will start to do much more because you know you can accomplish whatever you put your mind to.
Have the mental toughness and the rest will follow
I was born with glass bones and paper skin. Every morning I break my legs, and every afternoon I break my arms, at night I lie awake in agony until my heart attacks put me to sleep.

But to me, this sounds like being kind to yourself? At least, it's certainly not opposed to being kind to yourself
