  • He was next up, in the convo with Drake / Cole / Kendrick perhaps. Like the next big, major, potential festival headliner rapper

Then the album came out and people didn't like it and he canceled a tour to "recharge" or whatever but it was really cuz ticket sales were ass. And he fired his manager

And now no one thinks of him in that kind of league with those guys. Obviously he's still very rich and successful. But can't think of similar situations

idk if the music itself really damaged him as much as the internet & people clowning him online

Don’t think rebirth actually affected his career. It was just a terrible project but like nobody thought less of him for it

To answer OPs question, definitely don’t think there ever has been nearly as big a disappointment to ones career as that.

ppl swear chance isn't a good rapper just bc he made a couple duds

"I swear, it's enough leisure in this world to get lost
What's the point of gainin' chicken if you lose all the sauce?"

tbf that buzz died down bc of a lack of music not bc of the quality of any projects he was dropping

he dropped some of his best looseys ever then followed that up w TBD

idt we’ve seen someone get so flamed over an album before, you even see people saying its retroactively ruined the old music lmao

Chance had a lane that was working for him

Then he drops his debut album all about his wife, but not on some Divine Feminine s***...including a song called Hot f***ing Shower

Who thought that would go over well? You go from uplifting/psychedelic type music to preaching?

Lack of collab efforts and direction killing him

  • Jun 10, 2021

Chance literally the Anthony Bennett of rap

  • Whats up
