like it's basically just a more fun version of a marathon tbh. there's 36 legs and each person runs 3 each while everyone else drives in a van to the next relay spot(you're required to have a designated driver, lol). i think each person runs about 24 miles on average, but if you do one of the tougher courses like i did(wasatch), you'll be gaining and dropping insane elevation in some of these runs.

i had one leg where i ran down a mountain on this closed off asphalt road for about 9 miles in the middle of the night with no one in sight, no cars, just me and the light of my headlamp. eventually i turned it off and just ran in the moonlight and took in how amazing the stars looked at 6000 ft. it was probably the most at peace i've ever been.

that was during my senior year of high school. me and some friends did it and won the mixed division and it was neck and neck basically 299 miles out of 300. it was honestly maybe the most fun experience of my life. 10/10 would recommend

there's also an ultra division where you have 6 runners do 6 legs each. i think i could do it if i dedicated a couple months to getting in crazy shape, but man that s*** does not sound fun

but anyway if you ever see anyone with the ragnar bumper sticker just know they're into some bdsm type s*** lol
