It's not actually a movie. I can see why figurative language might put you off

Well duh, I was just continuing to use it to fit the conversation, great songs that you don’t play a lot is not a new concept

Of course he was, I don’t even know his issue but I’m sure it’s some emotional nonsense

not a fan anymore n usually guffaw at the whole 'he's boring' thing but...

self mythologizing bars with a bunch of basic overstuffed internal rhyme scheming that everyone will inherently eat up just cus its 'real hip hop'?

the whole "im still gonna threaten rappers bout getting into it w me" stuff is so played atp too

i just dont get (allegedly) reworking the fall off from scratch and thats what u come up to entice people after how he handled the beef. he's being pseudo-introspective about his rap persona rather than interrogating how it got him to this tough spot

i'd rather he sit down n really figure out wtf he has to offer rap that fans cant hear anywhere else and wat his supposedly final revelatory statement is in this s***

You're expecting too much from J Cole. He's never been good at executing concepts/making profound statements with a project

We'll be getting well performed, well written raps with "Don't medicate - meditate" type messages

That’s not about his music. More to do with how modern brains have been rewired with technology. Music that people “throw on in the car” is mostly engineered to disperse negativity in the most addictive way possible. So Cole’s music isn’t going to have that same bite

  • Jan 23

Nah. His music doesn’t hit the same anymore
