carti went 3/3
Absolutely not. Baby voice era is when you could make that debate, but before that? He was pretty mid for the most part.
I think for a while it was debatable who was better. 2014 and prior I’d pick Carti cause TRU by Uzi was good but not great. 2015/2016 was extremely strong for both, Uzi had more top tier music out at that point but Carti had a crazy catalogue of singles by then. 2017 was a breakout year for both, enjoyed the Soundcloud EP and LIR 2 more than S/T but I played both so much it’s hard to say. I think post 2017 I’ve enjoyed Carti more though, WLR is the best project either has released in years and it isn’t close imo. I think if you take leaks into account I’d pick Carti but just officially released music I’d take Uzi
idk if he’s better than uzi. it’s like drake vs kendrick, one values quantity of music and consistency. and the other just makes sure everytime they drop its the greatest s*** you’ve ever heard
Uzi and Carti are no longer direct competition for each other and their fanbases has yet to catch up with this
Can an album be classic if only die hard core fanbase see if as amazing ? If all you’re doing is pleasing your core then everybody got classics 🤔
I say that to say.. WLR is not a classic.
i was listening to wokeuplikethis recently and had a similar question. such memorable performances from everyone involved it's crazy.
i don't know why i drifted to who's better but it was remembering Uzi's verse that brought me back to the song but once i heard Carti again i kept coming back for him. it's hard to go either way about it
Yes, both goat though.
Carti 3 all time 10/10 classic projects undisputed.
Realistically outside of Luv is Rage 2 I don't think Uzi has any project remotely close to ANY of the Carti projects
Die Lit was met with generally positive reviews. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from professional publications, the album received an average score of 71
Whole Lotta Red was met with generally positive reviews. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from professional publications, the album received an average score of 75
Far from 10/10… I just had to point that out.

wlr was pretty different then majority of his work prior, if anything he alienated his core base and made a new one
