Feel like this has happened pretty often for me.
Saw Freddie Gibbs live right before SSS and he was drunk and didn't put in a lot of effort, I listened to the album once and was over it.
Flip side was seeing Pusha T, really fantastic mic presence and energy which made me appreciate It’s Not Dry a lot more.
Yves tumour just got on stage and danced like a guitar hero band without any of the crowd banter and honestly it rubbed me the wrong way
Constantly, a good/bad set has almost total control over my opinion. I’ve had performers/groups I’m not super fond of on record become must-see acts off the strength of a good show and it actively makes me like the record more
Also had a fair amount of bands where they’re the whole reason I came to the show, they gave a lukewarm performance & I never pressed play since
Saw Earl live recently. Went in and he started with two songs on SRS then played unreleased music for 30 minutes that nobody had ever heard before so nobody was really getting into it outside the general energy and if you've been to an earl show you know thats low. Turns out it wasnt unreleased music everyone just forgot about his last two projects so yeah wasnt a great night

This is so funny. Picturing a guy who only knows East showing up and being confused like “I don’t know this one” but getting Opium Lit when east comes on
Yea cuz of day n vegas 2019 i fell in love w damn
These guys became goated to me after seeing their live show. Can’t wait to see them again soon
