Q really f***s with me because these aren't autistic 12-year-olds or paranoid stoners, but ostensibly functioning adults, who believe what is arguably the dumbest "conspiracy theory" (although it's a hoax, not a theory) ever concocted.

The craziest thing about it is, it's literally just a MAGA reboot of another hoax from 2012, which had almost no traction, and was relegated to the most extreme fringes. Even David Icke was mocking it back then.

And - along with Sandy Hook hoaxerism - it really exposes just how many of the big conspiracy theorists are total frauds who don't believe a word of what they say. There's no way someone like Alex Jones or Jerome Corsi thought it was real for even a second, yet they were advocating it for years, along with so many others who know better.

Yeah a lot of weird maga dudes in their 30-40s are into this s*** but its f***ing frightening how many people I know personally, who are my age, who have turned to this s*** and become basically alt right conspiracy regurgitating pseudo-libertarians and any conversation with them just turns into them trying to rope you into some conspiracy nonsense.

i truly think its because of how bad political education is, the inability of people to be critical of capitalism (so they accept conspiracies rather than a***yzing material conditions and how openly corrupt our government is due to the economic system) and then just a lack of political theory in general.

“get a degree before trying to compare IQs thanks.”

Never ceases to amaze me how people would rather talk about illuminati and lizard people secretly running and influencing government than blatant capitalist stuff like lobbying happening right in front of their eyes

I think the rise of social media was more than enough to confirm how ed most people are

Letting everyone get their thoughts out to the country gave fellas with 3 brain cells the biggest platform they could’ve asked for
