ktt brings a lot of negative energy but i think its because people are so passionate and honest here that some users give off the wrong impression if you didnt understand the context

No incentive to invest into a particular artist as a fan when you can get everything buying their product would've gotten you for free.

No point paying for meet and greets and calling in radio stations to win a chance to get backstage passes to concerts, when you can directly tweet an artist or watch their instagram live.

Don't even need an instagram account or download the app, someone will upload the livestream on youtube.

Physicals copies at retail stores forced you to get up and spend your hard earned dollars on something, so it made you value it. Now you can just wait at midnight for something without even getting out of bed thanks to it being available on your phone, free.

I'd even argue pirating made some value music and other media content. If one really liked it, they may have actually bought it to show appreciation.

nope, it’s people lowering their standards because of ease of access along with the social media era making it more accepted to hop onto the next popular thing to validate your social status out of insecurity rather than enjoying something that’s simply not popular but good

people are more desperate to attach themselves to some sort of status in the current day rather than live and develop as an individual as it’s becoming too hard to truly succeed in the same way our parents did

this is what’s led to stan culture and discussion surrounding artistic value increasingly becoming oriented towards quantitative data like sales and chart positions
