After Beyonce and Frank popularized the modern form of it, it seems that a lot of massive artists have gone back to traditional rollouts, barring Eminem or whatever. Any thoughts on this?
yea its got boring as now, it only works for artists which have heavy anticipation and large amounts of stans

drake, probably the only guy these days that could do it and it would ring off, because its almost a certainty there would be a smash on there

if your reading this was sorta a surprise
i forgot about WATTBA ngl cant remember if that was or not i was only casual rap fan back then
yeah thats what i was refering to
I thought that he dropped a teaser of some of the songs the day before it dropped but maybe I'm mistaken. Still, it was unexpected due to it being nonstop bars.
i just want a normal rollout
2-3 singles, no capping and album release date
basically dua lipas rollout
If it boring is it still a surprise?
I mean yes I guess, but when Eminem dropped in January it wasn't as crazy as when he dropped Kamikaze. The more an artist does it, the less interesting it is.
I think surprise drops should be announced 2-3 days prior. That way there will be enough time for hype but still surprising when an artist has no announced work then suddenly tweets “album in 3 days”

That's what The Weeknd is doing right now
I love them
