Not gonna lie I have contributed a few entries to WhoSampled. I have found a lot of good music through looking up samples and it feels wrong not to share that joy with others

The thought of a producer getting mad because someone told others what music they sampled is hilarious

It’s more that the producer is going to have to pay to use a sample they did not or can not clear.

nope, and im 1000% against it

not telling no one where the sample is from so they can get their grubby ass hands on it and make an inferior version let alone having to clear/pay for it

Tbf WhoSampled does protect against this now, if you submit a sample of an artist who is known to sue it will be indefinitely 'deferred' and won't show up on the site. Responsive, not preventative, but better than nothing
