My list of A24 films rated in order imdb.com/list/ls093964088
The Florida Project - The kids were amazing actors. The story and everyone in it seemed very believable and I could not keep my eyes off of it. This is a very true story for a lot of people. I did not like the ending though. The part where she runs to disney world and it just ends was trash I would've liked it to end at the crying instead.
First Reformed - Beautiful, beautiful beautiful! The only thing I disliked was the part where she comes to his house and they lay on each other. the visuals were mad corny. And the ending was a drag. I wanted him to die somehow. I mean it's nice that he didn't but what was the point of putting on those things around his body? What would that have done? And the making out at the end? :dahell: stupid.
Kill Team - Pretty satisfying movie overall. I didn't expect the Naked Brothers Band guy (Nat Wolf) to perform well, but he exceeded my expectations. He seemed just like the high school kids that I knew that fantasized about the Army and wore the camo backpack everyday. As far as the story, it was surprisingly thrilling. I do not agree that the three years in prison he received was warranted if it happened like the movie says it did. He did his job by telling someone and was too scared to do more. How can you fault him?
Low Tide - Underwhelming and yawn worthy. Jaeden Martell did well, but the story was very very boring. His brother was the corny lover boy and their friend Red was very violent and they were all scared of him. Why hangout with someone you're terrified of? I'm glad he died in the end, but that was very anticlimactic. I don't suggest watching this film unless you're a teenager. You'll probably love it.
Under The Silver Lake - Loved it from the beginning. Andrew Garfield played Sam very well. The visuals felt as if it was a movie from the early 2000s but mixed in with retro things to give a comic book feel, which i thoroughly enjoyed. I do wish that they continued talking about the owl that was mentioned. I wanted to know more about her character.
Good Time - Hardly any action but had my heart racing and anticipating robert's next move. the bond between the brothers felt believable and I enjoyed it up until the under age scene. they didn't need to add that. he could've done so many other things besides make out with her. she clearly did not care about breaking the law, so i don't think her reaction to him being on tv would've been crazy. bad decision to me.
The Lighthouse - Brilliantly filmed, great acting but very odd. I got bored towards the end and the climax was filmed great, but not really worth watching again. I love odd films, but this one just didn't do it for me. Great effort though. I do have a problem with it being called a comedy. There were a few laughing points, but still not enough to call this a comedy. Dafoe and Pattinson are a great pair and would love to see them in something else together. Dafoe's speeches were beautiful.
In Fabric - Just nonsense. Dumb idea for a movie. It wasn't emotionally captivating or visually. Truly disappointed. Seriously, a dress murdering people? Unless you like senseless murder films, there's no reason to watch this. There's a tire movie just like this except less visually captivating. This movie was clearly trying too hard to be weird. And what's with A24 having people jack off in all of their movies?
High Life - Absolute nonsense. Story could've been great, but tanked somewhere... pretty upset about it because I love space films. I don't understand why all these hipster horror/thriller films are trying to make everything sexual. Took absolutely way too long for anything to happen and that's coming from someone who enjoyed 2001 A Space Odyssey.
Mid90's - Pretty laughable in a bad way. Boring film at it's finest. I love skateboarding and the movie Kids so I figured I'd give it a chance but I'm disappointed with this as well. The acting was dry, the kids had no substance. It felt very very empty. I was hyped for this.
Midsommar - I dont even know how to describe to yall how terrible this was. My girl and I were hyped to watch this and we were pretty upset at the outcome. Another movie that could've been great. Visually captivating, beautiful colors and the first half was great. But it tanked somewhere. The ending was okay, but I was not satisfied at all. I understand the message, but I probably didn't like it because it was promoted to seem like a horror but it's not at all a horror film. Watch it if you like drama.
Uncut Gems - Quite laughable. The sorry to bother you guy is a great actor but his role is s*** in this movie. I didn't believe in his character not one bit. Did they try to make him look corny on purpose? It's just not believable. Adam did great, but the movie itself just was not great. Overall it had me pretty annoyed the whole time. I wanted it to be over. The fact that people call this the greatest movie is beyond me. It was boring in every kind of way. I was inerested the first 30 minutes and lost that interest until he died.# that was my favorite part seeing him !#lying there getting what he deserved.

The Spectacular Now
The Spectacular Now
Saw that around the time it came out! Love love loved it. Had no idea about a24 back then. was quite surprised that that was even by them.
Bad High Life review. That film was dope
wasn't my taste sorry. what did you like about it
Disagree about mid 90s but def agree about high life, felt like it was trying to be metaphorical but just ended up being slow and stupid
EDIT: someone said my taste was bad but deleted their comment. Well, ths is my reply to you wherever you are
lol and yeah i watched killing of a sacred deer some time ago, but I couldn't tell you how i felt about it. I don't remember much. This thread makes it seem like I dont like A24 movies but I do.
Green Room, Hereditary, The Witch, Ex Machina, American Honey, Spectacular Now, The Lobster, The Rover and The Room. I have yet to see more of them which is why I'm having a Marathon. Watching at least 2 every day

yeah i forgot to mention how slow it was. im a fan of slow movies but once it ends up burning to nothing after taking forever..im pretty upset about it. Mid 90s was just bland. The dialogue felt like oblivion npc dialogue.
Which one was the best movie OP?
Out of these, it'd have to be The Lighthouse. I loved the black and white and their chemistry was great. And If you wanna see robert jerk off a few times have fun with this one. One of em sounded kinda painful

You suck
No nothing next for op, not worthy
hey i just downloaded it im watching tonight or tomorrow. im tryna figure out this vst i just downloaded.
if you enjoyed in fabric, please tell me why. if you're a fan of that tire movie i can understand, but if not...i just dont get it. i was on board until the dress attacked that older woman her son was with. that was just poorly done. and again with the weird sexual stuff. its just unnecessary.
Off topic but i’m about to watch Under The Skin with Scarlett Johansson.
Anyone seen it? If so tell me what y’all thought about it
