Finally got around to listening to it, a few thoughts

Catchy as hell throughout, and some really interesting production. Cool song structures

Feel like I would be a bit higher on it if it were a bit shorter, some tracks didn’t feel necessary and it was very long

Biggest problem with it was that too many songs (though not all) had juvenile lyrics. Similar feeling that I had with Olivia Rodrigo’s last album (which I also loved the production but hated the lyrics). There were some tracks that had more mature lyrics here tho

Favorite tracks were the title track and the Shibuya one

Define immature vs mature lyrics I'm just in general curious.

I guess I would just say immature lyrics have a very surface level view of the world, like the person that wrote them was young and didn’t have a broader context about the nuances of life that you get with age. It comes off as “cheesy” or “corny”

And it’s very often having to do with love/relationships (at least, that’s definitely the case with what I didn’t like about Olivia Rodrigo or Hayley). Obviously Hayley is not young, so it’s not just an age thing, but on the tracks I don’t like, it comes off as a teenager describing love/break ups

I don't see the lyrics as immature at all. In fact, a lot of this is s*** only a grown woman who's been through a lot would write.

Disappearing Man is one of the sadder and more complex descriptions of a failing relationship that I've heard in a while. And I know it rings true because it happened in one of mine (I was the man on the other end of the song). Dream Girl in Shibuya is a song you write when you've been in a relationship for a long time and you don't feel attractive to your partner anymore so you're seeking validation. Parachute feels incredibly lived in and specific to her situation with Taylor York.

The goofier moments on the album strike me not so much immature as something a deeply depressed person would write to have "fun" and pump themselves up. That's kind of the back and forth bipolar nature of the record.
