https://twitter.com/serieouslyfr/status/1485963332754579456again this is just connecting random shots man,the only one that was similar was the dancing scene and the creators talk about that, they wanted it to look as retro and stylish like that as possible

Joker and Taxi Driver are nothing alike either

how is that a relevant comparison man
we need the full soundtrack @labryinth
I view this show as just a "coming of age" type of show. No true central plot, but just a lot of intertwined stories that deal with serious issues and are seen from many different perspectives
And there is nothing wrong with that imo. At the end of the day i don't think it has to tell some larger story, I just like living in these characters world for 60 minutes every Sunday
this is exactly what it is lmao

we get it your only reference point for queer stories is CMBYN

doesn’t make a difference
the arcs are still the same, the ambiance is still reminiscent, the usual euphoria tone was clearly abandoned for a style that’s Luca esqe, whether intentional or not
doesn’t matter whatever niche stories you have as a reference point. when you’re the biggest show and tell a similar to one of the most acclaimed movies of the last 5 years, it’s going to get compared whether you like it or not

i've never seen anyone make that comparison until you posted itt
Is it really a lot of d***s shown?
Keep getting mix answers lol
Whats a lot for you?
I mean I feel like coming to terms with repressed homosexuality (or bisexuality) right as you find out you got a girl pregnant and she wants to keep it is pretty tragic in its own way. maybe not the craziest thing you could have imagined but pretty realistic.
Yeah it is quite realistic I suppose but I was expecting something a bit more messed up considering how him and Nate are so messed up, you know?
Not sure if I'm alone in this but I really didn't get too invested in that back story for Cal at the start.
Was expecting something a lot deeper tbch
I feel like we will see more soon. There has to be some trauma inflicted. Was expecting his dad to completely flip out
Yea cause this scene is definitely gonna make kids wanna do d****
this. It’s really only triggering to ppl who already do d**** or used to do d**** tbh.
I remember watching requiem for a dream before I ever did d**** and that movie kept me straight edge till end of junior year in hs lol
after I sent all my college apps tho I started partying cause that’s really the only thing that matters in hs so after I did that I said f*** it lets party
