Also
the reviews saying that the side characters don't get much shine. I came out of this first episode way more interested in the side characters than Rue/Jules which definitely wasn't the case after the first season.

Don't you think that s*** with Nate's gonna turn her off to the idea of him? I can't see her still going out with him after that. But I'd like to see her grow out of that good girl s*** she's been clinging onto so hard.

Are they maybe gonna have a romantic connection later? Yeah maybe. But dude was nothing but a gentlemen when they were talking.
What’s to say Lexie doesn’t turn 18 during this season? And honestly the way it looked, it wouldn’t surprise me if he doesn’t wanna involve her in his world (hence showing Rue getting strip searched just for waiting in Fez’s car) and yet Lexie will become infatuated with him and make a move once she’s a legal adult.
