Corlys looking weak af. Let Cole punch the s*** outta his son, let daemon and raehnyra (allegedly) murder his son so they could wed, Daemon beheaded his...brother? And Alicient and them emprison his wife
Where tf he even at these days?
That’s my only gripe with this show they off screened his death

They really ain't think it through. They just wanted something flashy

His storyline def not over. Rhaenys ain't gon be the only face of that house
I wonder how Rhaenys got to her dragon. Were all the guards required to go to the ceremony leaving it unguarded?

How she conveniently escape and walk by everyone
Common folk are basically cannon fodder . It's known none of the royals give a single f*** about common folk lives
hopefully rhaenys's massacre was at least intended as foreshadowing for future events in the dragon pit and not just a meaningless spectacle
young rhaenyra also said something along the lines of "who gives a f*** about the smallfolk?? they're not real people" when daemon took her to the streets of silk lol
this arrogance will ultimately be their undoing so i do think it'll come full circle in a satisfying way... eventually
That’s my only gripe with this show they off screened his death
Whaaaaatttttt
of all ppl how they gonna offscreen him when they ve shown so many more irrelevant characters deaths?
The real answer for why rhaenys didn't kill em is obvious, this was a added scene that def wasn't in books so no one important could get offed.
They just wanted a big epic cool moment cuz this episode was kinda mid compared to the rest and didn't really think it through which is why the explanations in the interviews trying to rationalize it story wise are so goofy, ppl in this topic have made better cases for her decision than the writers themselves
Everytime they have to explain what happened in the "inside the episode" or in post-episode interviews, maybe just write better ... s*** sucks

Facts they actually do more damage to their credibility than just letting us interpret it

I feel like all the characters in this show got some serious brain damage like they ALL collectively aren’t thinking straight neither the greens nor the blacks
Allicent trusting an almost blind man with dementia on his death bed with the future of the 7 realms even tho he gave her no context, Rhanys killing thousands of people for no reason at all, Aegon acting like he’s being forcibly transferred to a different school when he’s literally getting CROWNED KING, Aemond being Daemon lite, Rhanyra hoeing around, Crysten Cole being an absolute ass holding onto a grudge from that one night stand from like 20 years ago. Feels like King Viserys was the only one whose writing is well thought out in the show
A lot of these are simply nitpicking without giving much thought to context lmao
Episode 8 was the only great episode. Every other episode so far has been average but enjoyable.

I get they want us to know that someone needs to inform the blacks, they could’ve achieved the same thing and had her fly off after Aegon had been crowned.
It was spectacular but very illogical, if the dragon pit didn’t have a roof it would’ve been perfect.
From a writing perspective, I think it made sense to have Rhaenys there to witness the coronation so she could leave and go tell Team Black what happened. You could have written it such that everything happens the same way except instead of coming up through the floor she just busts out the side with her dragon and the building shakes so everyone floods out and then she's there on her dragon and just gives a roar to the Green Team before bouncing. This would accomplish the same thing (her declaring herself against Team Green) without the civilian casualties. Arguably, this would have been better writing.
But I think there's value in her act of terrorism because it will spread quickly throughout the city and the realm, a message that this new king isn't the real king. if she just bounced out peacefully with a roar but no deaths, maybe the common folk of King's Landing and elsewhere would have been like peace out b**** and continued to be accepting of Aegon as king.
Agree 100%
