People would rather nitpick about every change they made from the books, rather than try to understand why the changes were made in relation to the narrative the writers are trying to tell

I’m definitely not saying this show is free from criticism, but a lot of book readers act like every change from the books is the worst s*** they’ve ever seen on television . Like at least just wait and see why those changes were made

People who obnoxiously love everything because they don't have a critical thinking bone in their body are just as insufferable.

And quit lying too, there's always going to be hate watchers for any show but season 1 was almost universally well received outside of dumbass changes, and you can even check ASOIAF discussion boards; it was overwhelmingly positive.

The fact of the matter remains - they f***ed up blood and cheese (nothing came of it, not even character development for the character who had her child killed), daemon was doing one thing all season, to end up in the same place he was to start it, rhaenyra has been a waste this season and her personality just becomes whatever the writers think is most convenient for the plot at that time, Alicent being shoehorned into scenes that all have roughly the same message etc., The characters are not driving the show; instead the writers have a plot and the characters will do whatever they need them to do to advance it. Its even doubly disappointing because I could have sworn this whole season was hyped up as war and all that.

And guess what? A lot of the issues and poor writing this season come from the fact they changed the source material and took out key things. Even little things that led to great quotes from characters like jeyne arryn or jace were removed for literally no reason but to add unnecessary conflict lmao
