I dislike it because of the squandered potential and I keep watching because of the hype moments and aura as well as the hope that it somehow lives up to its potential in some way because everything except the writing is great

I mean Alicent didn’t have a choice in at least one of those matters
She did legitimately believe in what she thought Viserys told her, just never clarified what she heard with Nyra until it was too late

I'm aware but this episode in particular was hyped up a lot by people who'd seen it beforehand
I mean it was kinda common sense that after opening the season with a big battle things would calm down in episode 2.
But even in a calmed down episode we got some pretty big moments
