    F***ing classic

what made it a classic exactly?

It is. They’re just turning it into an anthology now. This was originally a mini series until last week

S2 is gonna be a different cast and settings

Oh s*** aight, haven't seen the season finale yet

  • Aug 16, 2021

Loved the ending. Love how I believed that it could have been any of the characters that died. Some of the storylines could’ve definitely been tightened up a bit, but it was overall satisfying.

I guess I get why they did it

but Rachael’s ending was super disappointing

  • Aug 16, 2021

what an aggressively average way to end a series

  • Aug 16, 2021

    v good 🙂👍

  • Aug 16, 2021

Literally every scene I thought someone was gonna end up dying lmao, seemed intentional too. Wild ride of a show, great commentary on rich white people in our day and age.

7.5/10. Came into this show not expecting much but I was some what surprised. It does play it pretty safe throughout the entire season though.

Social media is going to absolutely hate the finale but I thought it was pretty good

I think it ending exactly the way you expect it to (aside from who dies) is incredibly fitting

And also the fact that there was like 1 person itt who correctly predicted who died means that they did a good job with that part, and the guy who correctly guessed it put 3 names in his post so it wasn't even entirely accurate

Also we gotta acknowledge how good the acting is in this show, Jake Lacy, Natasha Rothwell, and Jennifer Coolidge in particular. 3 incredible standout performances but really the whole cast was phenomenal

Why did you have a problem with it?
It seems like the show wants us to believe that Rachel chooses privilege over happiness (Mike White confirms this in the Inside The Episode).
It’s bleakly poetic and her decision fits with what the show is overall trying to say.
But… I don’t buy that for a minute. Maybe she stays with him for a little while longer cause she feels bad he accidentally killed a guy.
But that couple has no chemistry and Daddario could easily find another man with money who’s way less of a douche.

Felt like she was setup to be the character who breaks away from the life, guess it makes sense that it was Quinn though

I do agree that her staying fits the theme of the show that's a good point

She definitely was set up that way. The show wants you to root for her and for Shane to be taken down.
So, it’s pretty ballsy that the show subverted that and denied the viewers what they wanted to see.
    I gotta admire it.

I found Quinn really relatable btw. His story was really moving to me.

I don’t think the show was perfect.
But I just really like how there were no heroes. And no villains.
We get to see the ways in which money can poison and corrupt relationships.
And what I love is, Mike White so easily could have just said, “fuck these privileged white people waltzing into this idealized dream land and mistreating all the service people who make that a reality.” And that IS what Mike White says. But he doesn’t stop there. It’s so much more empathetic and nuanced than that. Paula is a perfect example of someone using woke platitudes to mask their own deep insecurity. She doesn’t care about the plight of underprivileged people. She’s just jealous that she isn’t living the life she sees in movies.
And yet these rich white people ARE self-absorbed. But at the same time… Armond brought all this upon himself. He WAS wildly unprofessional. Shane is the smarmiest douchebag but he wasn’t exactly wrong to complain. There are no easy answers. This just presents a bunch of different perspectives, where no one is right, and asks you to draw your own conclusions from the cluster f***.
Will be tuning in for Season 2.

    cant wait to watch it

    Loved that ending

Terrible show. The "death" felt incredibly unearned. And the resolutions they gave for some characters had them end up right bk where they started. Almost as if their plot lines were never important enough to develop at all.

Ppl will say that it was intentional misdirection when the more obvious answer is they didn't know what to do with the characters that they had established.

A frequent theme of uncertainty was heavily present throughout but it was never really addressed fully (cept for the dad).

What a waste of time. Felt like ppl are comparing it to the shadows of the undoing without acknowledgin3g that it doesn't even indulge in the "mystery" or dwell on any conflicts at all.

    Neat bows.

Unless they find their footing with szn 2, seems like this will end up being a pretentious mess

I thought it was a pretty good satire of fake woke people with the Olivia and Paula characters
