Also i know the 6ix9ine numbers have garnered all the attention this week but Big Sean only doing 111k is super weak.
You’d think he could pull off 200k or close.
still sean don
This been needed to happen for a while, hopefully in the next year or 2
I think for it to work best pure sales will have to be extinct tho. Cuz there are some artists that still rely on mainly pure sales, especially the ones who keep doing Tidal exclusives. Most of the early 2000s and 90s artists aren't have good streaming numbers tbh
for now the equivalent system is working, but 10 years from now unless something changes, it should be more streaming based

Why would Sean do 200k? 111k is surprising to me, was not aware anybody was really playing Big Sean records.

he did disappear a bit for like 3 years so
Niggas stopped all that "Stream Detroit 2" talk after the numbers came out lmao
It’s the video version of this.
wackademiks really running with the blackballed narrative

Idk man maybe my perception of him was incorrect.
I always had him a tier below the big 3.
Drake
Kendrick
Cole
Big Sean.
If Drake is doing around 732k, Kendrick is doing 603k, and Cole is doing 397k I thought big Sean could do at least 180k.
But after this my ranking of him has changed after this week.

Lot of people just pretended to support sean because 69 dropped this week, I'd be surprised if Sean did 80k or better on his next one
Finally Famous 87k
Hall of Fame 72k
Dark Sky Paradise 173k
I Decided 151k
Detroit 2 111k
Sean did fine
Dark Sky did 173k

I say that’s good for him. He had numerous singles that flopped before this. Is 200k really reasonable for him?

Man what? Of all the people closest to the big 3 you choose SEAN? Outside of the first Detroit tape, niggas don't even remember Sean projects. That's why there was so much hype around a follow up. And even then Detroit was a mixtape not an album.

Honestly not sure man. Maybe I’m wrong. Probably am, he did take a 3 year gap so things change. Just that my perception of him was someone who can do 180k-200k.

I only placed Sean with those 3 because he’s of the same class.
They all came up together around the same time. I know other artists are bigger such as post and travis.
Dark Sky did 173k
Thanks, wiki is dumb and listed the physical sales early in the article and added the album equivalent units later.

When he was first coming up. But he burned out way before them. DSP was his peak in sales and even that only hit 173k first week.
Aye I’m tripping. Take back what I said.
Just looked at all of Sean’s first week sales. He’s never done over 151k (I Decided). Finally Famous did 87k, then 72k with Hall of Fame, then 139k with DSP, then 151k, and now 111k.
111k is actually not bad for him. Pure sales down since 3 years ago.
