it literally says 5x platinum read

    No it doesnt LMFAO

  • Jun 5, 2021

I think baby and durk fanbases overlap a lil too much for their solos to be THAT much of an increase. I think baby will sell more than this and durk probably lower

They literally took the certification of the album off. Show me proof the album went 5x platinum before streams. I'll wait

Yes but I’m just saying unless baby waits another full year or 2 to drop. This project will negatively affect his next solo due to over saturation.

He dropped 3 projects in 2018 and that only helped him. We could do a friendly wager that his next solo projects will be his best first week !

  • Jun 5, 2021

Why would they take the certification off if the album was certified? Im waiting

Yall cant read. I clearly said WTT was recertified after streams. And they removed the certification. I posted proof and you niggas still wanna argue. I aint even address WATTBA's later sales. Point was about first week, not long-term sales. Lmao yall moving goalposts at this point. If that's the case, what's the point of making this thread? We dont know what bby and durk will do long term

I agree that these are respectable numbers and definitely not an underperformance..

If I'm not mistaken 21 Savage and Metro did 173,000 last October with Savage Mode II and that was a clear win, however juxtaposed with these two being the clear hottest out of the genre atm I could see why people are a lil underwhelmed.

It hasn't had it's certifications updated yet.

Yeah I know, I saw stats last year that had it around 3.5M it’s probably 4x platinum by now.

450k is still a drop. Im not gonna do this surprise drop excuse with yall. J Cole had a surprise drop and did like 370k fw. It only had 11 tracks at a time where people STILL BOUGHT ALBUMS. A year later, Views sold 800K PHYSICAL copies first week. 11 tracks is no excuse. It being drake's second release is no excuse. DMX had 1 albums out the same year. One went triple plat. The other went 4x plat. The dropoff is visible. The point is collabs don't sell as much.

    You're dumb lol.

IYRTITL/WATTBA weren't the projects people wanted/were expecting from Drake. People were anticipating and waiting to throw their support behind Views.

WATTBA possibly doing over 450K SPS with a full tracking week isn't a dropoff when it would have been Drake's second release in a year where he had just released a mixtape 7 months prior and he still had an album to release 7 months later.

Use a more recent example of how Justin Timberlake dropped 2 albums in the same year. First one did 968K, second did 350K.

2018 is irrelevant he was still fighting for a spot. Now he’s the guy and is everywhere.

People already saying he uses the same flow.

His next album prob will be his best FW but it won’t make the jump the the 300k range like it could have if he didn’t drop this.

  • Lil Baby next album will probably have 35 songs on it when it's all said and done.

It's on par with 21's Savage Mode II w/metro boomin, which pulled 173,000 ..it's respectable, not sure about a 'big w' though.

You are making excuses. People want drake projects. Drake dropping a surprise project during the height of his career doesnt change this. Just because drake told us about an album doesn't mean we didnt want other albums. Are you really going with this argument

It is a dropoff. Drake did 700k with NWTS. You even said it would have done more if it had a week and it still wouldn't have done 700k according to what you said. That is a DROPOFF. Nobody wanted durk and baby either so according to your logic, people are waiting and anticipating No Auto Durk and Baby's 3rd album. This is a joint project they just told us they were doing. Stop it.

You clearly missed the argument with 2 albums by bringing up JT.
